Whistler’s Top Spring Activities

The changing of the seasons means so much more than new weather to contend with. Here in Whistler, the arrival of a new season means new activities. It's a time to enjoy something novel or even a spin on something old. Spring in particular, is a time of year when sporting equipment comes out of storage and becomes part of the regular rotation. It's the only time of the year when multiple sports can be enjoyed in one day. Let's see how many you can fit in. Here are Whistler's top spring activities to give you a few ideas of what's possible.

Spring Skiing

Blackcomb Mountain closes on April 14th and Whistler Mountain closes for the winter season on May 20th. That's plenty of time left to enjoy Mother Nature's last attempt at winter and the glorious by-product, spring skiing. Spring skiing is about sunscreen, t-shirts, après, and fresh spring snow on half-empty ski hills!

Hiking

The snow is melting below mid-mountain and that means the hiking trails are slowly starting to emerge. Pack a lunch and go on an adventure to the infamous Train Wreck, Rainbow Falls, or Brandywine Falls.

Mountain Biking

The arrival of mountain biking is one of the top spring activities for both locals and tourists alike. Its long-awaited arrival is met with incredible conditions. Some of the best conditions of the entire year. Think tacky dirt otherwise known as hero dirt!

Eating

As the ski season wains, the local restaurants gear up for spring dining deals. Many local establishments offer discounts, deals on multi-course meals, and special menus featuring the season's bounty during this time. We can bet no matter how many Whistler activities you try to fit into one day, you'll have time, *cough*, room, for this one!

Activities Galore

If you can't fill your boots on the patio, get into some adrenalin-filled activities that will make your head spin. Choose from the ever-popular Whistler Bobsled before it closes on 7th April. Slip into Whistler's serene backcountry with a guided Snowmobile tour, or Zip down Whistler Mountain on our famous Ziptrek. And if that's not enough, spend a few minutes browsing the many other Whistler Activities that become our incredible resort. Online Booking is fast and efficient and our Live Chat manned by Whistler locals is always ready to help.

Golfing

The beginning of May sees the local golf courses open to the public. Teeing off during this time usually means staring at snow-capped mountains, playing into the early sunset, and mild temperatures. Now, if that isn't the stuff a golfer's dreams are made of, we don't know what is! A word of advice: book your tee time early as the best times sell out.

Now that you know Whistler's top spring activities, you can schedule them all in. We'd like to hear just how many you managed to do in one day during this magical time of year when anything is possible. After a day of doing it all, you'll want a place to rest your head. Let us at Whistler Reservations help you find the perfect accommodation for your action-packed Whistler adventure.
