Our journey began with a seamless private transfer provided by Luxury Transport from Vancouver International Airport to Whistler. The drive up the Sea-to-Sky Highway set the tone — jaw-dropping views and smooth comfort all the way.
Pulling up to the Fairmont Chateau Whistler felt like arriving at a mountainside castle. Tucked at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, the Fairmont is everything you’d hope for: cozy elegance, five-star service, and alpine charm in every detail. After checking in, we headed straight to the Village for our first taste of Whistler living.
Armed with our Gibbons Après Pass (20% off across top bars and restaurants), we grabbed lunch at The Longhorn Saloon. With cold drinks, mountain views, and seriously good nachos, it was the perfect fuel for what came next.
First up: the Eagle Zipline Tour with Ziptrek Ecotours. Soaring high above creeks and treetops, we felt like birds gliding between the peaks. It was part adventure & education, part meditation — pure mountain magic. The tour starts & ends in the heart of Whistler Village and was an amazing way to explore the local scenery, all while learning plenty about the local wildlife.
Immediately after, it was time to trade the sky for the backcountry. On the Bushwacker ATV tour, we tore through rugged trails, splashed through puddles, and climbed to panoramic lookouts. It was messy, loud, and insanely fun. Our guides at Whistler ATV were also amazing!
Dinner was at Balam, using our $200 Infinity Group gift card. Think tropical cocktails, bold Latin flavours, and a buzzing jungle atmosphere — the perfect post-adventure wind-down.
But the night wasn’t over. We wrapped things up at Vallea Lumina, an immersive forest night walk turned multimedia light show. Imagine twinkling trees, glowing pathways, lasers, and a storybook atmosphere that had us walking in wonder. It was surreal, magical, and hands-down one of the most enchanting experiences of the trip. The perfect way to wrap up our first day in paradise.
We started the day early — coffee in hand, bundled up for something wild.
Our Bear Viewing Jeep Safari was one for the books. As the sun crept over the mountains, we spotted multiple black bears roaming through alpine meadows and forest clearings. Seeing them in the wild, so close and calm, was nothing short of awe-inspiring. It was like we had our own private viewing experience of these beautiful animals; not to mention the birds and other wildlife inhabiting the Olympic Park.
Back at the hotel, we recharged with lunch at Portobello using our prepaid Visa from Whistler Reservations— brisket sandwiches and house-made donuts on a sunny patio. The vibe was relaxed and reenergizing, just what we needed before taking to the skies.
The float plane tour with Harbour Air took off from Green Lake, and within seconds, we were soaring above Whistler’s jaw-dropping terrain — glaciers, turquoise lakes, and snow-dusted peaks stretching out in every direction. It felt like floating through a living postcard.
We spent the rest of the afternoon strolling through the Village, doing a bit of shopping and enjoying more après pass perks. We also stopped at the Mexican Corner patio for a quick afternoon Margarita - delightful. That evening, we slid into the Fairmont’s outdoor pool & hot tubs, letting the mountain air and night sky melt the rest of the world away. Peaceful, quiet, and perfect.
After two action-packed days, we leaned into a slower pace for our final morning.
No alarms. No plans. Just a lazy breakfast in bed via room service (hello, eggs benny and a pot of coffee) followed by one last soak in the Fairmont pool with views of the mountains all around.
Our private luxury transfer picked us up mid-morning and whisked us back to Vancouver — tired in the best way, sun-kissed, recharged, and already reminiscing.
