UPDATE! WHISTLER BLACKCOMB IS OPENING EARLY NOVEMBER 16!! WHOO HOO!
Not just two mountains, two side-by-side mountains which combined offer over 200 marked runs, 8,171 acres of terrain, 16 alpine bowls and three glaciers. Not just snow, we’re talking 1,174 cm/462 in/ 38.5 ft of annual average snowfall, that piles up into epic powder, tight corduroy groomers, extensive terrain parks and endless moguls.
Not just a place. The place to ski and snowboard, and it’s opening in Whistler on November 28, 2013. The official opening of both Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains marks the start of the 2013/2014 winter season, and for most this won’t be a day too soon! At the first sight of Alpine snow on September 29, 2013, Whistler locals and visitors practically stopped dead in their tracks and jumped for joy. Hints of winter came early this year, and now it’s here to stay!
So dust off your skis or snowboard, grab your toque (eh!) and join the celebration. There are some awesome opening weekend events in Whistler you don’t want to miss.
