Early Season Golf: What You Need To Know

It's time to dust off your clubs and hit the green, golf season is here! After a long winter, the idea of getting back into the 'swing' of things can be daunting. However, once your feet are firmly planted in the grass, everything will feel just as it did when you last played a round. Especially since early season conditions are known to be some of the best. That being said, there are a few things you can do to be even more prepared for early season golfing. Here's what you need to know about the start of the golf season in Whistler.

Bears!

Whistler's furry locals have only recently awoken from their winter slumber. And just like us, they flock to the golf course. Just kidding, but they do linger around the valley as the food sources are more abundant. This means catching sight of one of them while playing a round is a common occurrence. Just practice being Bear Smart by giving them lots of space.

As mentioned, spring course conditions can be some of the best of the entire season. The course staff have been hard at work and it shows. Since Whistler courses winter and drain well, players can look forward to lush grass and manicured greens. The mild temperatures found in the coastal mountains promotes growth leading to a green that looks like mid season even though it's only early season!
