5 Reasons To Be Excited About The Winter Season

We've been waiting a long time and if the descending snow line is any indication, winter is finally here. It's time to bring on everything that the season entails. Forget hot drinks, cozy fires, and mittens; We're talking about snow, sports, and exciting new features on the mountain. The change of the season is bringing the good times along with it. Here are 5 reasons to be excited about the winter season in case you need more fuel to feed the wintertime stoke!

Winter Sports

Some of the greatest things about the winter season are the sports that come along with it. Skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and ice skating are just to name a few. The giddy feeling of partaking in these sports keeps us coming back for more. Since they are only seasonal, our excitement for these winter activities is through the roof after such a long wait!

Snow

There's something magical about falling snow. It could be the hush that sweeps over the valley or maybe it's the beauty that it brings by blanketing everything in white, especially on Opening Day. Whatever it is, the feelings of wonder, awe, and anticipation remind us of all the fun that's going to be had playing in the white fluffy flakes.

Waking up to snow-capped mountains is a perfect way to start any day. Bundle up to step outside your accommodation in order to stroll around Whistler Village and take in the sights. Be sure to look around at the ice that glistens and lends a sheen to everything it touches. The beauty of winter in Whistler is undeniable.

New Lifts And Gondola On Blackcomb And Whistler Mountains

The 2018/2019 winter season will see the addition of a new six-person Emerald Express chair, a four-person Catskinner chair on Whistler Mountain and a 10-person gondola, from the Upper Village to the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola connection on Blackcomb Mountain. These exciting additions will make getting up the mountain faster and more comfortable.

Après

An action-packed day filled with snow and being on the mountain is worthy of celebrating. The time after skiing is called après ski and it's when the day's activities are relived over drinks, conversation, and even dancing. It's not uncommon to end up dancing the night away in your ski boots. Once you've experienced this, you'll know why it comes in a close second to actually skiing powder.

With the arrival of the snow, the excitement for everything the winter season brings is very much alive. By booking your trip to Whistler, you too get to revel in the fact that you will be able to enjoy the snow, sports, and exciting new additions to the resort.
