15 Whistler Activities You Can Do Alone

Travelling alone? Or maybe your friends are just busy. Whatever the case, the mountains can keep you company. When you're by yourself, you're not on anyone else's agenda and are free to experience your surroundings on your own terms. Luckily, there's loads of things to do in Whistler whilst flying solo. Here are a few suggestions for activities you can do alone while in town!

Mountain Biking

Don't be intimidated by the Whistler Mountain Bike Park, it's actually a great place to go alone. Plus, you own't have to argue with anyone over which trail to ride!

Ziplining

Soaring through the air at 80km an hour doesn't leave much room for friends.

Walk the Valley Trail

Explore the 40km of paved trail that connects Whistler's neighbourhoods either by walking, running, biking or even roller blading.

Relax at the Scandinave Spa

The Scandinave Spa has a no talking policy which makes it easy to be by yourself and even more convenient- Just think, you won't get shhhh'd!

Sit at a bar

Grab a stool at one of the many Whistler bars and enjoy a signature cocktail while watching the world unfold before you. Even walk around to a few different ones for a change in scenery. 

Visit the Audain Art Museum

Art is subjective and you can keep it that way as you contemplate the work of British Columbia artists on display at the Audain Art Museum. 

Go sightseeing

Take the gondola up the mountain to experience the 360 degree views full of magic. You can share photos with your pals later to make them jealous!

Lounge at a lake

Lazily take in the stunning views that surround every lake in Whistler from either a dock or the beach. Go for a SUP (Stand up Paddleboard) or canoe if you find yourself antsy. 

Practice your swing at the driving range

Swing to your hearts content at the Whistler Golf Club's driving range. Push yourself to try to beat your own distance. Then next time you're with friends, dominate the field.

Stroll the through the village

Walking the village stroll, enjoying the sights, sounds and smells doesn't require company. Pop into the stores you want or even stop at interesting restaurant- all on your own schedule!

Take in a concert

The Outdoor Concert Series sees concerts happening on most weekends throughout the summer season. Grab a blanket, get there early to get a spot and enjoy music in the mountains with little to none interruptions. 

Indulge in a treat...or two

Settle in at one of the many cafes with a book or a Pique Magazine and relish in the quiet ambience. Make sure to try the local baked goods,  you won't regret it!
