6 Things To Do In Whistler Before Going Back To School

back_to_school

It’s no secret that the seasons are changing. The days are shorter, the nights chillier, and there’s this ever looming knowledge that going back to school is right around the corner. While textbooks and homework might lie just on the horizon, there’s still plenty of time to make the most of the summertime that’s still left. From hiking to biking and everything in between, we’ve got 6 things to do in Whistler before going back to school.

ZipTrek Tour

We hate to break it to you, but soon, you may spend more time in a classroom than outside. So take advantage of it while you can and soar through the trees with one of the many ZipTrek zipline tours.

Hike Russet Lake

This challenging hike is not for the faint of heart. In Fact, it takes 8-10 hours to complete it but the sights you will see are well worth it. We do recommend that only children above 10 years of age embark on this adventure due to the length. Russet Lake is a fantastic alpine lake that lays at the base of the Fissile and boasts spectacular beauty. Cross this one off your back to school bucket list.

Jump In Logger’s Lake

Logger’s Lake is located in Cheakamus and is one of the favourite local spots. It is the warmest of all the Whistler lakes as a result of volcanic activity below the surface. Enjoy the short walk to its shores and prime floating conditions.

Hike Ancient Cedars

Stare up at giant trees all situated in an old-growth grove found just north of the village. This hike is both stunning and educational, a great warm-up for going back to the classroom!

White Water Rafting

You’re going to need to let loose before homework and projects take over. Get it all out of your system with a rafting expedition down either the Elaho or Squamish River. A must for thrill seeking families.

Bike Lost Lake

A winding network of cross-country trails, biking Lost Lake is an exhilarating adventure that will make time disappear. Top off your exploration by bike with a snack at the Passivhaus or a dip in Lost Lake. You won’t be able to do that when school is in session!

Whistler is the perfect place to spend the last days of summer. Enjoy a wide range of activities that will leave you with plenty of memories to day dream about while school is in session. Get a best price guarentee on your holiday at Whistler Reservations.
