Whistler in summer is an outdoor lover's (and sun-seekers) paradise! The sun is shining, the lakes are warming up, so whether you want to hike, bike, or relax - there’s something for everyone to enjoy in Whistler this summer. Here are our favorite Whistler Activities this summer!
People watch on patios
If you’re in Whistler this summer, you’re doing something wrong if you don’t spend at least one sunny afternoon on a patio. There is a full spectrum of patios to choose from, especially as this year COVID-19 guidance has given restaurants an opportunity to expand their patios to twice their usual size. More patios for the people! So sit back, relax, and soak up the sun with a cocktail in one of Whistler's many restaurants.
Hike into the alpine
Whistler is a hiker’s paradise, with a plethora of trails ranging from cruisey beginner trails to more grueling thigh burners. From a twenty-minute stroll around the peaceful Lost Lake to a four-hour hike along the ridgeline from Whistler mountain, Whistler has it all. Depending on which you choose, you might want a sightseeing pass from Whistler Blackcomb.
Enjoy pretty alpine meadows, spectacular glacial lakes, a variety of wildlife and stunning views as you choose the path that is right for you. Whistler’s one of a kind Peak to Peak gondola has opened up a new network of trails on Blackcomb mountain for you to enjoy, including Overlord Trail and the Blackcomb Ascent Trail.
Hang out at the lake
Whistler has not one, not two, but FIVE lakes each within walking distance of the village. Whether you want to paddleboard, kayak, or simply soak up some rays - Whistler has enough fresh water for everyone to enjoy. Want something more adventurous? Kayak the River of Golden Dreams and float between Whistler’s two largest lakes down a picturesque river that looks like something out of a fairytale.
Whistler Farmer’s Market
You know it’s summer when the Whistler Farmers' Market hits the Village. Every Sunday, local vendors set up in the Village from 11 am until 4 pm. Feast on locally-made treats, shop artisan goods, and enjoy live entertainment. The bustling market is a wonderful way to spend a Sunday - dog-friendly and plenty of fresh food to be tasted!
