If the usual draw of outdoor adventure against an incredible backdrop isn’t enough to entice you to celebrate Canada Day in Whistler, we are sure that these 10 reasons will convince you other wise! Check out what’s going on in Whistler this Canada Day, as there are plenty of special events you won’t want to miss!

9AM-11AM – Pancake Breakfast

Donate three dollars to the Whistler Community Services and receive a delicious traditional pancake breakfast this Canada Day. Breakfast will be beside the Whistler Library on Main Street in the Florence Petersen Park.

12 PM - Canada Day Village Parade

The village will be celebrating Canada in full force with a Canada Day parade! Wear your favorite red and white to cheer from the sidelines as the parade weaves its way down the Village stroll at noon.

2:30PM – Canada Day Ceremony

Head to Olympic Plaza for a short, sweet and meaningful ceremony to celebrate our beautiful country and honor our heritage. Concert to follow.

3PM – Canada Concert (Vancouver Symphony Orchestra)

Join in on an afternoon full of music in the Olympic Plaza. The talented Vancouver Symphony Orchestra will be performing for free with lots of space in the Plaza to sit and enjoy their beautiful sound.

3PM-7PM – Artwalk

The Village Stroll will be full of local artist’s work both outdoor and indoor. Wonder into cafes, retail stores, hotels and restaurants along the Village Stroll to admire all forms of local art. From photography to pottery, jewelry to paintings; the Artwalk will be chalked full of unique pieces! Stop by Millennium Place or the Whistler Visitor Information Center to pick up an Artwalk Passport, your guide to the Artwalk and the artists on display!

3PM-7PM – Street Entertainment

Complimentary to the Artwalk, the Village Stroll will be filled with fun and interactive entertainment for all ages! Music, live art demonstrations and wacky entertainers will be scattered through out the village. Be sure to wonder through the converted Florence Petersen Park on Canada Day for a magical artistic experience!

3PM-7PM – Whistler Farmers’ Market

Whistler’s Upper Village will be hosting a special Canada Day Farmers Market. Sample, smell and maybe even bring home some local produce or delicious baking. The Upper Village will also be going off all afternoon with entertainment and actives for the whole family to enjoy!

5PM-8PM – Phat DH Wednesday Bike Races

Visitors and locals can compete in the Whistler Bike Park in Phat DH Wednesdays presented by Kokanee. Registration is 4:30-6pm at the hut below the GLC. Two-hundred spots are available, so get there early to secure yours! Hang out on the GLC patio to watch or après after a fun race!

10:15PM – Fireworks

Skier’s Plaza will be the best viewing location for an astonishing display of fireworks in honor of Canada Day.
*Please note that the fireworks presentation is weather and fire hazard conditions dependent.
