WHISTLER LIFE

Whistler in the Fall – Festivals & Events Round-up

Bright fiery tree tops and a gentle mountain-top dusting of snow marks the start of the Whistler fall event schedule. Simply put, Whistler is a mecca for year-round entertainment. I know - it's a bold statement, but I stand by it.
Top-shelf events and festivals have become a staple here in Whistler and this fall is no different. With the darling of all events, Cornucopia, returning this year to heat-up the chilly autumn evenings, it's a no-brainer that Whistler will be the place to be. For your enjoyment, we've highlighted the best of the fall season:

Whistler Cornucopia
Whistler Cornucopia - November 7 - 11, 2012

Turkey Sale and Whistler Mountain Ski & Board Swap - October 5-8, 2012
This annual "big tent" event is LEGENDARY and offers a massive one-stop-shopping opportunity for those looking for both new and pre-owned gear for the upcoming winter season. Expect amazing deals and huge pre-season savings on all ski and snowboarding equipment. Always the best prices of the season.

Fungus Among Us Mushroom Festival - October 12 - 13, 2012
While I was one who admittedly snickered the first time I heard about this festival - it is no joke! People come from far and wide to partake in this unique experience. This two-day event includes presentations and guided walks by experts in this field, as well as a gourmet wild mushroom tasting on Saturday.

Cornucopia, Whistler's Annual Celebration of Wine and Food - November 7 - 11, 2012
If your a foodie or a serious wine connoisseur then this is the festival for you. Four days of sensory indulgence awaits with gala wine tasting events, winemakers dinners and amazing after parties hosted by some of Whistler's top restaurants. This is a bucket list item and simply something everyone should experience at least once - although if you do it once, I guarantee you'll be back!

Bizarre Bazaar - November 23 - 24, 2012
Whistler's original artisan market is an eclectic array of handmade wares by the fine folks in the Sea to Sky corridor. I often head to the bazaar for my Christmas shopping and always walk away with unique and memorable gifts. Expect to find a wide selection of ceramics, clothing, fine art, wood, glass, metal, jewelry, leather, candles and aromatherapy products as well as Christmas decorations. Always a good time.
