Celebrate Canada Day In Whistler

This year marks Canada's 150th birthday. To celebrate this extra-special occasion, many events are being held all over the country and Whistler is no exception. Surrounded by the mountains, you won't find a more perfect location to party! From parades to spectacular dinners, there are plenty of ways to show your Canadian pride that will be taking place over the whole week, not just the long weekend.  We have gathered up a few suggestions on how to celebrate Canada Day in Whistler. 

July 1st

Flag Raising And Cake At The Fairmont

Time: 11am

Meet in the lobby at 11am sharp then head outside to raise the Canadian Flag in honour of Canada's birthday. After, enjoy cake to further celebrate! 

ENTRY: FREE!

Canada Day Parade 

Time: 12pm

The infamous Canada Day Parade travels from the Whistler Olympic Plaza, along the village stroll and finally, to Mountain Square. This years theme is Strong, Proud and Free! Make sure to wear your red and white!

Entry: FREE!

Canada Day 150 with Whistler Blackcomb

Time: 12:30pm

Join Vancouver Symphony Orchestra at the Roundhouse for live music in the mountains.

Entry:  Whistler Blackcomb will be handing out 150 FREE lift tickets starting from 12:30 PM. Otherwise, entry is a the cost of a lift ticket which can be purchased at guest relations or online. 

Canada Day Carnival At The Westin Hotel

Time: 12pm-3pm

The Canada Day Carnival at the Westin Hotel features a bouncy castle, DJ, games, face painting, crafts, popcorn, cupcakes, BBQ and beer garden!

Entry: $10 per person or $30 for a family.

Bearfoot Fathers of Confederation Tribute Dinner

Time: 7:30pm

Enjoy a Canadian Confederation era inspired menu paired with wine and finally, set on a long table on the grounds of the Whistler Golf Club.  There are after-dinner festivities at the Bearfoot Bistro which will feature music and dancing.

Entry: Advanced Tickets are on sale until June 28th for $250 taxes and service included. After that date, tickets are $312 taxes and service included.

July 2nd

Whistler Farmer's Market

Time: 11am-4pm

Stroll through the Upper Village and enjoy local artisan goods, produce and lively entertainment. 

ENTRY: FREE!

Vancouver Symphony Orchestra Performance

Time: 8:30pm-10pm

Bring a blanket and a snack to enjoy live orchestra music at the Olympic Plaza. 

Entry: FREE!

July 3rd

Whistler Institue Orchestra 

Time: 2pm

Spend an afternoon watching the young musicians of the Whistler Institute Orchestra. This free concert takes place at the Olympic Plaza so don't forget your blanket!

Entry: FREE!

Whistler Street Entertainment

Time: 12pm-6pm

Through out the village, you will find music, art and live entertainment!

Entry: FREE!
