8 Activities in Whistler You Can Only Do in The Summer

The list of activities in whistler you can only do in summer isn’t a short one. Here are just a few we can help you plan on your next trip to Whistler!

1) Golfing
With five breathtaking courses in the Whistler area, teeing off isn’t a question; it’s just a matter of where! The Chateau Whistler Golf Club sits nestled on a lower mountain ledge. The winding and rolling course is technical and has gorgeous Whistler Mountain views. Nicklaus North Golf & Country Club lies in the valley next to the glacier feed Green Lake with a 360-degree view of our mountains. The last resort in our town is the Arnold Palmer designed championship resort course, Whistler Golf Club, known for having the best value and convenient location. To experience golf just out side of Whistler, we recommend heading to Big Sky Golf and Country Club in Pemberton or Furry Creek Golf and Country Club 45min south of Whistler on highway 99.

2) Rafting
Rafting is a refreshing and thrilling summer activity! We offer four different rafting experiences, from 2.5 hours all the way to a to a two-day trip. Choose from a rolling river journey to a raging river journey or something in between.

3) Hiking
From valley walks to alpine adventures Whistler is a destination full of hiking and sightseeing adventures. Until the end of September use the Peak 2 Peak Gondola for access to an incredible alpine trail system on Whistler Mountain and Blackcomb Mountain.

4) 4x4 Off Road Tours
Choose between ATV tours, Jeep tours or side-by-side RZR tours, or sample all three! Locations include the Callaghan Valley, Cougar Mountain, or right up Blackcomb Mountain! There are a variety of packages from all day adventures with a fresh salmon bake to a quick two-hour tour that samples Whistler’s rugged terrain. For an off-road experience where you can just sit back and enjoy the views, check out the Bear Viewing tours in the Callaghan Valley. This one of a kind tour is lead by guides with local knowledge of the valley, animals and plant life.

5) Horseback Tours
If a morning or afternoon filled with stunning waterfalls, meadows filled with wildflowers and incredible mountains views sounds great, why not see it all by horseback? The original way of exploring the west is still one of the best ways.

6) Kayaking/Canoeing
Traveling down the famous River of Golden Dreams via kayak or canoe is a summer must! Begin your journey at Lakeside Park. Paddle across Alta Lake and head to the River of Golden Dreams. The river connects to Green Lake, where you will finish your tour. Guided and unguided tours available and both include transportation and rentals.

7) Fishing
Spring, summer and fall all boast great freshwater fishing here in Whistler. Choose between fly, spin or drift finishing with a guide for a full or half day at a variety of local locations.

8) Biking
