5 Very Whistler Halloween Costumes

Boo!

Did we scare you? It's that time of year when all the spooky ghouls and goblins take over the village! But what if you're traveling and didn't pack a costume to wear? Don't worry, there are a number of places to either pick up a costume or make your own. And once you have that part completed, you can decide where to wear it! We've gathered up 5 Whistler Halloween Costumes that you can make or buy in town and then where you should wear them!

A Lumberjack

This costume is easy as many of its components are part of Whistler's uniform: Toque, flannel, and jeans! You can find these pieces at just about every retail outlet. Cut out a cardboard axe and paint on a beard then you're set!

Where to wear it: 

Whistler Haunted House- A Manor Of Creeking

Whistler's Haunted House "A Manor of Creeking" sits in Whistler Creekside across the street from Nita Lake Lodge. Here, families can enjoy a toned down scare version on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 PM and the full scare will be available from Oct. 27 to Oct. 31 starting at 6:30 PM to 10 PM. Family admission is $5 per person and the full scare is $10 per person.

A Hollywood star or starlet

Pick up a wig at one of the grocery stores, they usually have Halloween goodies. Then, travel to Function Junction and visit the second-hand store, Deja Vogue for a glamorous dress or suit.

Halloween Film Screening: Get Out

The Whistler Public Library will be featuring Jordan Peele's GET OUT, the highest grossing horror movie of 2017 on Oct. 31 at 7:00 PM at the Whistler Public Library. 

Harry Potter

Visit the Re-Use-It Centre in Function Junction. Pick up a tie and an old pair of glasses, you may even find a cape!

GARFS WARS- Halloween Party

Get dressed up to party at one of Whistler's premier nightclubs, Garfinkel's. On Oct. 31, enjoy a funk-fueled Halloween monster mash called GARFS WARS- Halloween Party

A rabbit or bear

Whistler Hardware lies right in the heart of the village. This store has a little bit of everything and they almost always have a costume or two. Grab a pair of ears and then pick up some makeup to draw on a nose and whiskers for the finishing touch.

Where to wear it:

A Barhop

Bar Hop Whistler is celebrating Halloween in style. Join a group of people and go from haunted house to haunted bar. A total of 4 venues are visited and there will be prizes for best dressed. 

A ghost

A classic but nonetheless good costume idea! Pick up a sheet either at Home Hardware or the Re-Use-It Centre in Function Junction. 

Where to wear it:

Trick or treating on Easy Street

On Oct. 31 take the family trick or treating on Easy Street, located right behind Myrtle Philips community school. Kids of all ages are welcome to participate.
