5 Things To Do In Whistler Before The Snow Falls

As soon as the leaves start to turn, it's no secret that snow will soon follow. Before we know it, the alpine will be blanketed or more like buried and the temperature will be below zero, making all those fair weather activities near impossible to do. So while the sun shines, the birds chirp and the bears still wander, it's time to get in everything that will otherwise have to wait until next season. Here are 5 things to do in Whistler before the snow falls!

Hike

Hiking could be here one day and gone the next depending on the weather. Officially, access to Whistler and Blackcomb mountain closes for winter preparations on October 9th. Before then, take a gondola and a chair lift up to the top and get ready to explore the many hiking trails.

It won't be long before the furry locals have called it a season and gone into hibernation. While they are fattening up for their extended sleep, it's a great time to view them foraging. During this period, they are actively searching for food up to 18 hours a day, making it easy to see them in action.

Whistler Reservations Staff Pick: The Sunset Tour has the perfect mood lighting and you don't have to get up early!

Golf in the fall might just be one of the best kept secrets. Enjoy cooler temperatures, empty greens and specials at the clubhouses. Hurry while you can, many of the golf courses wrap up their season at the end of September.
